Official title

[edit]

Per the billing block on the bottom of the poster, the official title is actually William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. If you look closely at the film's logo, you can clearly see an ampersand inside the plus sign; William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet is merely a stylization. This is reinforced by the copyright listing with the U.S. Copyright Office, as well as the MPAA certificate and Library of Congress. Rotten Tomatoes also lists the official title. I've updated the lead to reflect this. Normally, we should use the official film title rather than a stylization, in accordance with MOS:TM and WP:NCFILM. However, given that this film is widely known by its stylized name (WP:COMMONNAME), as well as the fact that Romeo & Juliet is too ambiguous and William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet is too long (WP:CONCISE), I am willing to grant this an exception.
